Greetings Bay Area Friends and Family..

Join us on a journey of sound healing with our dear brother Madhu.
Madhu is a sound healer extraordinaire who learned from the first-hand experience of being paralysed as a quadriplegic and used sound and energy healing to completely recover. He has also studied Jazz and World Music and went on to be certified in Sound, Voice, and Music Healing at CIIS. In his sessions he offers energy healing on an amethyst Crystal Biomat, using tuning forks tuned to sacred number ratios, as well as offering techniques and guidance for opening the healing power of the voice.

From the atoms that make up your body to the spiralling Milky Way galaxy, everything is an expression of vibration. Everything is sound. The perspective of sound healing states that when we experience some sort of dis-ease in the body, whether it's physical, emotional, or mental, we can say that something has gone out of harmony. What if we could just restore ourselves to the frequency of health and happiness? We can. All of us can use sound to activate a healing response and restore balance in the body.

We meet artists artists Deva Premal & Miten, Krishna Das, Lama Gyurme, Snatam Kaur, Jai Uttal and MC Yogi and they share how this practice has transformed their lives over the years.

"A beautiful film which captures the spirit of a music movement that is now spreading across the world. MANTRA is a must-see for anyone who wants to pause and take a look within, accompanied by soulful and uplifting music and singing.”

— Dr. Deepak Chopra, MD, Author of You Are The Universe

Susan and her amazing work at San Quentin is featured in the film. - There is a powerful segment with the men at San Quentin attending a kirtan led by Jai Uttal and Friends. Magic happened the night of this concert, and it translates into the film! As well, the men’s interviews about what they experience singing the names of the Divine together is illuminating. Despite all the ‘names’ in the film, these men and their heartfelt comments about the power of kirtan have been stealing the reviews and people’s hearts all over the world.

ABOUT EVENT
This evening talk is based on Lama Tsultrim Allione’s new book: Wisdom Rising: Journey into the Mandala of the Empowered Feminine. A dynamic spiritual model based on 1000-year-old tradition from Tibet meets the gale force winds of the current world situation. She masterfully shows us the secret to harnessing the energy of the fierce wise dakini a previously forbidden aspect of the feminine, whose juicy potency is so needed now. Through the Dakini Mandala, a universal template of wholeness, each of the five dakinis, embodiments of the fierce feminine, transforms an emotional encumbrance into wisdom. The mandala brings strength from the inside out giving a practical method to become an effective agent of transformation in your world.

During this talk after an introduction to the mandala and the dakini principle you will be guided in a short experiential journey into the mandala of your innermost being, where the empowered feminine resides.

Followed by book signing.

ABOUT LAMA TSULTRIM ALLIONE

Lama Tsultrim Allione, author and international teacher, co-founded Tara Mandala with her late husband, David Petit, in 1993. While living in the Himalayas in the 1970s, she was inspired by the vision of creating a retreat center in the West. She was ordained as a Tibetan nun in 1970 at the age of 22 by His Holiness the 16th Karmapa. At the age of 26, after four years as a nun, she returned her monastic vows, then married and raised a family of three children. While raising her children she earned a Master’s degree in Buddhist Studies and Women’s Studies from Antioch University. Author of Women of Wisdom, a groundbreaking book on the lives of great Tibetan women practitioners, Lama Tsultrim also authored the National Best Seller, Feeding Your Demons: Ancient Wisdom for Resolving Inner Conflict, now translated into twelve languages. Feeding Your Demons presents Lama Tsultrim’s pioneering technique based on Chöd, using five steps to nurture the parts of ourselves we usually fight against. Numerous audio programs, DVDs, and magazine articles have been produced about her life and work, including Feeding Your Demons: The Life and Work of Lama Tsultrim Allione, a one-hour documentary by Jaap Verhoeven produced by Dutch TV.

For many years, she has focused on the teachings from the lineage of Machig Labdrön, the 11th century Tibetan yogini who founded the Chöd lineage. In 2007 while traveling in Tibet, Lama Tsultrim was recognized as an emanation of Machig Labdrön by the resident lama at Machig Labdrön’s monastery in Tibet, Zangri Khamar. In 2012 she was given the Machig empowerment by H.H. the 17th Karmapa at Chang Chub Jong in India.

In 2009, Lama Tsultrim Allione was selected by an esteemed committee of scholars and practitioners to receive the international “Outstanding Woman in Buddhism” Award given in Bangkok, Thailand. Her teaching inspiration comes from her sublime Tibetan lamas and her experience as a Western woman and a mother. She is now enjoying being the grandmother of six and is currently working on her new book, Wisdom Rising: Journey into the Mandala of the Empowered Feminine, to be published by Simon and Schuster in May 2018. At the same time, Lama Tsultrim continues to guide Tara Mandala and thousands of students around the world.

The path of Secret Mantra with Tenzin Lama Sherpa

About Tenzin Lama Sherpa )
Buddhist monk, Reiki Master, Tenzin Lama Sherpa teaches Usui Reiki and Buddhist meditation and philosophy. When he was only 13 years old, he finished his elementary education only to become a Tibetan Buddhist Monk. Since he was very young, he studied in Tibetan Buddhist monastery Namdroling in south of India. Throughout his monastic life, he has received endless philosophical teachings, transmissions and initiations from great lamas. Tenzin has studied all the Buddhist Sutras including Theravada and Mahayana Buddhism. He has taught in Nepal, India, Chile, Mexico and the United State. In the monastic life he also gave teachings and he took care of the monks that were sick. When, for the first time, he saw so many people sick in the hospital, he wanted to become a doctor, but it was impossible to be a monk and a doctor at the same time. Once he was sick and his uncle suggested that he should take Reiki healing and courses. He started taking healing with a lama, and in three days he was fully recovered. He learned Reiki healing. After completing Reiki practice, his teacher requested him to serve in Nepal Reiki Meditation center. Tenzin served over four years in Nepal Reiki Meditation Center. He used to offer his services and his knowledge in a reiki healing center, in households, hospitals and other centers dedicated to social services. After finishing his second level of reiki, he started his healing services at a distance in different parts of the country. After having finished the third level of reiki, he started to guide new reiki practitioners. He was also interviewed in the radio, in Nepal. His master claimed that Tenzin is one of the best healers among a group of 2000 students. This comment meant a lot for Tenzin, it meant way more than the certification of graduation. In 2005, Tenzin Lama’s teacher received an invitation from a Chilean doctor to come to the country and Tenzin Lama’s master appointed him to be the assistant to take part in Buddhist centers, in reiki healing centers, universities, and clinics from different parts of the country. Tenzin Lama also learned and exchanged knowledge with Reiki Masters and psychologists from Chile. Over the last ten years, Tenzin Lama has given reiki to more than 11000 people and has taught reiki to more than 800 students. According to Tenzin Lama, Reiki is a healing method that has no side effects. Any person can learn meditation and reiki for either self-healing or for healing others. This healing practice promotes physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual growth.

Satsang & Kirtan with Guru Aama Radhika

We are overwhealed to once again welcome Guru Aama Radhika in the Bay Area.

Join us for this very special night of Satsang and Kirta. She will lead us to a journey of understanding how to acknowledge, accept and activate our heart, the core, the centre. A remembrance of tremendous trust, empathy, gratitude, devotion, bliss and love.

Suggested Donation: $15 - $40 (sliding scale)
No one will be turned away for lack of funds.

About Guru Ama Radhika

For the past 2 decades, Guru Ama Radhika has dedicated and worked to help more than 1 million people in Nepal and abroad, with her simple efforts of kindness and unconditional giving. She believes that love and awakening are not a monetary phenomenon. That is why the Ashram she leads is completely free. Her simple vision is that every house must be a temple. A sacred place of mindfulness, gratitude and union. This requires some effort and momentum. Some compassion and awareness. Her vision for the world is to make every home a sanctuary, a temple, a place of awakening and worship without boundaries and division. Unconditional temple of humanity.

The ashram is led, managed and coordinated by elderly mothers. Some of them have never gone to school and some have a collection of stories about the hardship in life. And some of the mothers are constrained in their own self-bubble. But as they are given the responsibility to lead and manage a collective effort, they can come out of their own prejudices and start making difference in their home and in the society. Guru Ama points out that educating a daughter or a mother is educating an entire family. Hence whenever she can she provides possibilities and opportunities for educating the daughters as well as the sons of poverty-stricken family and the families, from all over Nepal. This ensures that the family can come out of poverty, and can end some of the superstitious believe system still prevalent in many parts of Nepal.

She explains three things are essential for a blissful and wholesome living: holistic education, holistic health and holistic lifestyle. She works together with various schools to make education a doorway to a compassionate and sustainable living.

She also works closely with different hospitals, doctors and nurses, shamans, social workers, and medicinal practitioners. From 4-5 AM in the morning to midnight in many cases, the ashram conducts various classes to ensure a holistic health and holistic life of an individual. No money is asked and no fees is involved. Everything is done in a spontaneous and compassionate way. If someone feels to donate, the amount is channelled to help someone else in need.

For more information about the ashram, please visit the following link:https://www.facebook.com/ShivaYogNepal/
